Wow, 2012 is almost half over and so many AMAZ!NG things have happened!
I have been so busy with Partying for a Purpose and It’s All About the Kids that I haven’t have time to keep up ! So much has been going on and at the end of the day, I am exhausted!
So much fun ! January was filled with travel and Shawn Heyl’s birthday ! I started the month in Bangkok with Wayne and can’t wait to go back. I suggest it to everyone! GO! While I was there, I got lots of great ideas for the backyard and outdoor areas at all of our parties!

Then, we celebrated Co-Founder and Board Member of It’s All About the Kids Shawn Heyl’s birthday at the Alexander Salazar Fine Art Gallery in La Jolla. We enjoyed delicious food from Market Place Grille and Sprinkle Me Desserts. The fanastic Laurel was pouring wine and making cocktails with Naked Juice and St Petersburg Vodka ! So yummy !DJ Watusi was throwing down the tunes ! Theresa was there with her camera! Thank you to everyone who attended and made the night so fun, especially Brian Olea of Playboy Radio who came from LA!

February was filled with LOVE and Pillow Pets! Pillow Pets donated an endless supply of the cuddly pets! We received 220, and we helped other charities receive over 1500. Kids all over San Diego and even in orphanages in TJ have a soft place to lay their head tonight! SO AMAZ!NG! February was filled with planning for our spring and summer events and more fundraising on our Crowdrise site! www.crowdrise.com/p4pfundaiser . I also traveled to Viva Las Vegas for several trips preparing for our March Madness event! Thank you to the Palms, Monte Carlo, Caesar’s Palace, and the Aria for your hospitality! Then, we headed to Las Vegas for our Parting for a Purpose March Madness Weekend! What an AMAZ!NG time. The Aria was great! Our friends from the Oklahoma Party Crew were in town, and a bunch of great California supporters came out to party and gamble all weekend. Thank you to my girls…who came out to Vegas for a low stress weekend of creating cocktails and having a great time with guests. Thank you to Sal and Jamba Juice for hooking us up and donating healthy food and smoothies. I must admit, the Jamba Juice smoothies were soooooooooooooo good with St Petersburg Vodka! Also, we celebrated…. Happy BirthDEY to Amaz!ng MIKE ! LOL I stayed an extra day with Wayne and we got the privilege of hanging with the Oklahoma Party Crew. What a great afternoon we had at BARE! One of my favorite comments of the afternoon was … “Laurel is just resting her eyes”! What an incredible night at the BANK – full force ! “Bring in the A Team! “- Jeff Guthrie! Thank you Jeff, Shreck, Bob Meyer and the whole crew! I needed a couple of days to recover from the craziness! Wayne was bit slow too. Oof.

April…my birthday month! It started with a trip to Scottsdale with Pedro to visit the family! Grama turned 91 years old! Got to hang out with long time friend Jerry ! Enjoyed the best food on earth – including rum cake with Mom and Kristi ! So much love ! Thank you so much! Pedro got to hang out with Jose, too. Jose runs their house! Pedro is a Shi-poo and Jose is Bichon.
The month was full of PARTIES! I had the best birthday ever! My birthday is 4-20…a great day to have a birthday! The day before, the Oklahoma Party Crew arrived for a fun weekend! LOVED picking up the crew at the airport…led by Dee and Jeff ! Dropped off the girls at the W and took the boys to Ralph’s to stock the bar. THEN…. We went to Searsucker that night for Shreck’s Dinner! Last year at the Ooh La La Party at the Playboy Mansion, we auctioned a dinner for 10 at Searsucker prepared by Chef Brian Malarkey! Dr. Shreck was the winner and he brought the crew out to San Diego with him! What an AMAZ!NG dinner! OMG. It was course after course of magnificentness! Then, we rolled down the Hard Rock and 207 where we were greeted by Jae and taken to our table. Time for pooping bottles! Thank you so much for everyone!
My actual birthday started with a fabulous phone call to Playboy Enterprises…they gave me permission to announce this year’s August party! I then proceeded to jump out of an airplane! A bunch of my friends and I skydived! Then, we relaxed for a minute and then headed over to my birthday party at the Diaz’s! They transformed the backyard into an Arabic den with pillows and sofas and even hukas! It was a great evening …and there was even a belly dancer!
AMAZ!NG 8th Anniversary Party for It’s All about the Kids
April 21, 2012 we celebrated the 8th Anniversary of It’s All about the Kids with an AMAZ!NG party at the Vault! CLICK HERE For the scoop on that party! I was able to announce the Partying for a Purpose Cirque Weekend with 4 parties including a Saturday Night Party – CIRQUE at the Playboy Mansion! This is our 9th annual! Brian Olea from Playboy Radio joined us for the weekend again so we stayed up until 5:30am with Jack in the Box and creating the backyard set up for the August 18 Cirque Party at the Playboy Mansion. Brian came up with another AMAZ!NG first…!!! Just wait until you see !
On April 22, we enjoyed a brunch filled with bottomless mimosas and bloody maries at Taste & Thirst. Then, it was time to relax!
May kicked off in style with a trip to LA with Mike and Shawn to visit hotels and attend the Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp Party at the Playboy Mansion. We visited the Hotel Intercontinental, The Beverly Hilton and the SLS. We are deciding which hotel will host our Partying for a Purpose Cirque Weekend. It is important that we have big suites for private parties and a great pool! Then, the phenomenal Dave Ockun joined us and the four of went to the Playboy Mansion for the party. What a great time…the backyard was filled with rockers and beauties! The food – exquisite as always with ‘action stations’ of Lamb Lollipops and freshly cut sushi ! The sliders! The tomato soup! So many things…and I didn’t start to tell you about the dessert. The bands from the camp performed and it was a great night of rock and roll! I especially loved the GRAPHICS and live feed on the gigantic LED walls and plasma tvs by San Diego’s KING Size LED and the lasers from Nu Salt Lasers. Both companies are top notch and I love to see their work. They are both big supporters of our charity, It’s All About the Kids. Everyone asks me about so many questions about the Playboy Mansion….I can tell you that it is more than just a house…it is history and mystique! Everything is first class and attention to detail. You must experience it for yourself. Each time I am there, it is another remarkable time.
So, at the Playboy Mansion, did I meet any famous people that were cool? First, I am so so grateful to be able to meet people of all walks of life in my journeys. I often get to meet ‘famous’ people. Sometimes they are cool. Sometimes, not so cool. If they are cool…I will tell you! They need to be recognized for being awesome. If they are less than excellent [as my brother Scott use to say], then I may either leave them out of my blog or blast them. Usually leave them out of the conversation. COOL – John Moyer of Disturbed. He wasn’t just a guest, he was a coach for one of the bands in the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp. He was so excited for his band. Did you know that he owns a music school in Texas? Rockstar and teaching the next generation! I am in awe.
COOL – Corey Feldman was there and I got to chat with him for a minute. He was escorted by 5-6 super hot ladies…Corey-style! His band is doing great and he has a bunch of parties coming up. I hope to be invited to one or more of those. I am sure they will be EPIC.
COOL – not a rocker – but a Playmate – Ava Fabian. GORGEOUS! She attended our 2004 party and I swear she looks younger every year. She is SOOOO beautiful and so nice and classy.
COOL – not a rocker but a pioneer in her field – Pat Lacey – she is in charge of the Playmates and everything Playmate. She is one of my true role models. From the moment I met her in 2004, I have such an enormous amount of respect for her and all she has accomplished.
So, while at the Playboy Mansion, I was energized and started thinking about our party on August 18 during the Partying for a Purpose Cirque Weekend! I can’t tell you…you have to wait and see.
THEN…Sunday – Funday May 6, I was kidnapped by Mansion Mayhem! Brian Olea and Vanessa and Co took me hostage in Hollywood! Not against my will, of course! Mike and Shawn started the day with us, and then they headed back to SD to leave me to the Mayhem! Dave O joined us and then Brian got the call….Entourage Mansion…pool party. Let’s Go! After we chilled poolside at the famous house, Brian got the call….Playboy Dancers Video Release Party….Let’s Go! Thank goodness for cabs because Anthony’s Mango Margaritas were intoxicating! Next thing I knew, I was sitting in a booth watching a HOT VIDEO of the Playboy Dancers ! Then, after a blink of an eye, the place was filled with Playboy Dancers, Playmates and other Playboy Family! I got to have a great conversation with my fav Pat Lacey. I love to hear news about her upcoming adventures and past experiences ! Then, it was time to get to the train station and head back to San Diego! Last train! Whew! I escaped! I had a 10am meeting with Mark the GM from the Hotel Palomar in San Diego that I could not miss!

Wow. What a weekend. I am still thinking about it and all that just went on! First, thanks to the Playboy Mansion and Mr. Hefner for another AMAZ!NG party. The Friday VIP Party kicked off the weekend in high gear. Thanks to Myers Jackson, and the fantastic bidders…we had the most successful live auction EVER. What fun it was…we were all jumping up and down and the guys and gals were battling it out..yep, even the women got involved!
Saturday…I don’t know where to begin. I will just say this..what happens at the Mansion, stays at the Mansion. I can’t tell you too much more because you have to just go..and create your own memories…

Sunday was an AMAZ!NG day! JES performed on Saturday night in San Diego and so on Sunday, she wanted to meet the kids from It’s All about the Kids! So, we went to brunch at Taste & Thirst! 16 teens joined us! It was so awesome…the kids all received autographs and haven’t stopped talking about how fabulous JES is. Not only is she ultra-talented, but she cares about our kids! WE LOVE YOU JES! Thanks, Tom for making it all work!
I got the list of the Playmates that are joining us…but we are keeping that a secret. I can tell you that they are centerfolds from 2010 and 2011. And they are SUPER HOT! Can’t wait! They will join the Cyber Girls, Lingerie Models, Playboy Live Models and more beautiful ladies !
The biggest question is…what to wear? Well, in the grotto..nothing! But when you aren’t in the grotto, I suggest…Friday Night Pool Party: cocktail attire. For Saturday pool party…swim shorts and bikinis! For the Ooh La La Party..guys, throw on a Fedora [they will be on sale at the Hyatt - with 100% going to our charity! ], suspenders, and even suits! There is coat check for your clothes in case you go in the pool..which we suggest ! Bring a towel!
Ladies..wear corsets, tutus, leather, vinyl..go big. I am even wearing a top hat!

OMG! In a week from now, I will packing the car and getting ready for the trek from San Diego up the 405 to the city of Angels for the Ooh La La Party at the Playboy Mansion and Party weekend! I go to the Hyatt Century Plaza on Thursday for the pre-Con meeting and to be there to start the weekend off!
The Pre-Con meeting is fun for me. Pre-Con stands for Pre-Convention Meeting. It is with all the department heads from the Hotel and we go over every little detail. It cracks me up because they all stand up when I come in and ask so graciously. They are all in their fancy suits and I usually roll in wearing a Wonder Woman Tshirt and jeans. But, that is how I roll…. It is always a great meeting because I get to make them blush when I talk about stripper poles and Machetti’s footprints on the ceiling [a complaint from housekeeping in 2009]..and when the head of security promises to be my new best friend. Security at the Hyatt…they are awesome! Only our group is allowed on the top floors of the hotel…lock down for the after parties! One year, security asked me to come out in the hallway at 4:30am after the big party. I thought, “crap, I’m getting in trouble for something”. To my surprise, they wanted to thank me for the opportunity to work the party, as it was the funnest party they had ever been to. I was re leaved for sure. We know how to party and they give us the freedom to do so!
Saturday and Sunday’s pool parties are going to have BANGING music..that is for sure..DJ Scott Roberts, DJ IDeaL, DJ ShineSD and DJ Lil Ryan. Last year the girls of Charmed Life Entertainment performed by the pool on Sunday…hoping for a repeat this year.
The Playboy Live, Lingerie Models and Cyber Girls will be joining us for the WHOLE WEEKEND..CAN’T WAIT!
Today, I talked to a SD nightclub owner, whose name will remain a secret, about having his birthday party at the OOh La La Party…really at all 4 parties..hope he decides to let me throw ‘his party’. Cabanas at the pool at the Hyatt all weekend, unlimited bottle service at the Playboy Mansion from the front row next to the Runway with gorgeous women everywhere and a few extras we can’t mention…now, that is a birthday! Say Yes ! We will spoil you and your entourage for sure!
So, I got to finish the Entertainment line up with Tomas – DJ IDeaL, who manages all the DJ’s for our events. I now have to start choosing Playboy Playmates. So hard! They are all gorgeous ! Send in my list of celebrity requests. I can’t tell you who requested to come…we want it to be a surprise.
I have to catch up with Alexander Salazar tomorrow as well….to choose the art for the Silent Auction during the weekend. His gallery is so totally fabulous and he represents the most talented artists ! Alex Rocks! We also have art from Scotty of California and Dave Dickey.
I have a meeting with the guys from PEPPER tomorrow in Carlsbad. Will be a great time ..as always. They are amazing!

WOW! Yesterday was AMAZ!NG!
The day started with Robert, Shawn, Laura and I heading to LA to meet with Chef Carter, Hef’s chef and the Executive Chef at the Playboy Mansion. I have written about him before…and I was so looking forward to the French food that would be served this year. We stopped at the Hyatt Century Plaza to pick up Michael, our sales guru at the Hyatt..he can’t make the party, so we invited him up for the meeting. They were STILL taking down the decor from the Mid Summer’s Night’s Dream! And even Spa Dog was there giving baths to all the adorable dogs who are so very lucky to call the Mansion their home. There was all sorts of people visiting !
The meeting went AWESOME and we can’t wait to unveil the menu. Look for it in your program that you will receive when you check into the Hyatt Century Plaza next week! It was great hearing about Chef Carter’s sons and all the fun adventures Chef Carter invited us into the house and we had a blast. I never want to leave….
So, after a fantastic meeting, it was time to go to Playboy Radio to be on the “Mansion Mayhem Show” with Brian Olea and Pilar Lastra. This was our 3rd time on Playboy Radio and it was the BEST!
The show started with Brian and Pilar talking with Natalie from the LA Temptations…she will also be bodypainted for the party! Then, they invite Nicole our MC, Shawn and myself into the studio. Nicole started speaking sexy French to Brian and he turned red and tongue-tied! Then, Machette was invited into the studio – she is the SD Pole Dancing champ and the owner of Brass Pole Entertainment. She immediately went upside down, sideways and only holding onto the pole by her ankle. AMAZ!NG!
Then, the gorgeous Melissa Dawn Taylor joined us to talk more about the party! Adam Lasher came into the studio with his guitar and sang LIVE! His new song, Nicotine Love, was fab. Since we only have a mic stand for his guitar, I got to hold the mic for him. I hope that when he wins Grammys that he will remember me….lol.
Lastly, JES came into the studio to close the show. AND…yes, she sang..and her new song, Awaken! My jaw dropped. It felt like we were having our own private concert. It was absolutely awesome. I was sitting in awe of both of them!
Huge thank you to Brian and Pilar for having us on the show and for supporting our charity each year. This will be Pilar’s 8th year with us ! We grabbed sushi with Brian after and had to head back to SD! Thanks, Robert for being our driver! You rock!

Today has been overwhelming…I had the last Art Class for the Kids and returned to a full Inbox ! I got to talk to Charles, a great publicist in LA and he is sending over his celebrity list. The word of the day is Cyber Girl! And to those who just have to ask…what is a Cyber Girl? Well…a Playboy Cyber Girl is a gorgeous girl from Playboy.com – a girl is chosen each month! Not only will the gorgeous Melissa Dawn Taylor [Cybergirl November 2009] be our host, but I just arranged for more to attend….and Playboy lingerie models! They love our parties …so I am so excited to get the list and see who is coming to join us.
Riding home on the train from LA yesterday, I got to talk to Jon of the Fluffernutter’s. He and his crew just got back from their big Caribbean trip. Next stop…Playboy Mansion…Jon and his group are joining us again..and taking over the Penthouse floor and Cabanas by the Pool….can’t wait. His peeps are absolutely awesome! Jon is also receiving a Taking Care of Business Award!

I also had lunch with awesome Adam Lasher. He and his band are going to perform again this year. He is so ultra talented and such a great guy. He cracks me up. We are always talking about how blow away we are by the stupidity of people. I am looking forward to hearing his new band…his songs rock.
JES! She is so amazing ! I had the pleasure of having dinner with her and her manager Tom…along with my x-intern Brooke. Jes just got back from touring in China! She gave me her new cd…ok, I have played it over and over..I love it. She is not only talented, but such a philanthropist. She is playing at On Broadway in San Diego, on Saturday, August 13, 2011…get to the show. It will rock…just a preview of what you will see at the Mansion! She is performing WITH HER BAND…! And then, on Sunday, we are making plans for her to meet the teens of It’s All about the Kids. They are going to flip…I can’t wait!

Whew! What a weekend! Just recovering from the Cafe Sevilla Grand Opening, we decided to host Brian Olea of the Playboy Mansion and his buddy Jim Michaels of “Supernatural” for a weekend of fun in San Diego! To say thank you to all the hostesses from the Grand Opening, we had a little party on new Associate Director Jeff’s yacht. TOO MUCH FUN. The night continued at Side Bar, then the after party, then….big headache! Thanks to everyone for coming and having fun. Theresa took some blackmail photos and put them on FB. CLICK HERE!

At the Friday Night VIP Party, we will be honoring special folks who have contributed tremendously to our charity. Jon Gross, Jeff Guthrie, Dee O’Dell, Jason Gentle and Jaye Heybl will receive the Taking Care of Business Award. This award goes to those supporters who do just that…Take care of business! Others who have been honored with the award include Hugh Hefner and many of our sponsors who will be attending the party!
Going to the Mansion tomorrow ! So excited with my meeting with Brian Olea! Meeting Tony Bruno and Miss Robin, as well as Brian Bond and his mom ! Melissa Dawn Taylor, our host, will be joining Shawn and me as well! We will have the special invitation for the Ooh La L Party for Mr. Hefner, Cooper and Marston. The Agency San Diego’s Craig and Joel created the most spectacular Corset invite…I’ll include photos in my next blog.
I am so excited to be a guest NEXT MONDAY on Playboy Radio’s “Mansion Mayhem” show with Brian Olea and our Ooh La La Host Pilar Lastra! Adam Lasher will be in the studio to sing a song to Pilar…and we will have other special guests! Listen in LIVE at 3pm PST on Playboy Radio, Sirius XM 102. For the last two years, I have been able to be on the show. The show is a blast…as is the Green Room..yep, the Green Room at Playboy Radio is a riot. There are always Playmates there who have their own shows and start talking to us about the CRAZIEST things. I think that they are trying to get me to blush by being so…so…promiscuous! They start talking about having sex on the air and experiences on adult films. I have met some interesting ladies in the green room! They rock..they are having fun and living their dream. And isn’t that what life is all about?
Also having lots of meetings while we are in LA..interviewing hostesses and making final arrangements…all the details handled. It is almost time to get the party started. Just a few more days.

Last night was AWESOME at Cafe Sevilla – It’s All about the Kids was the charity for the Cafe Sevilla Grand Opening Party. WOW. Cafe Sevilla rolled out the red carpet …guests were lined up down the street! Over 475 guests enjoyed the best Grand Opening in the Gaslamp this summer! As soon as guests entered, they received a glass of sangria and a tray passed delectable. Usually, at Grand Openings, inside is a mad house with a line at the bar….not at Cafe Sevilla. Their amazing service overflowed! Beautiful waiters continued to tray pass drinks and fantastic food all night long. The Paella was out of this world..as was the entertainment. The Children’s Flamenco Show by Paloma Aragon Art Flamenco was SO WONDERFUL. They danced in honor of It’s All About the Kids. Guests were Salsa dancing until 1am! The live Flamenco rumba sets’ music carried out onto 5th ave. What a first class party! We raised over $11,000 for programs for It’s All About the Kids ! With a late night donation of $1000, the night was more than a great success. Thank you to all our volunteers and our photographers, Jackson, Theresa, TJ and John.
